
The Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite Campus (LPU) celebrated its first foundation bearing the theme: “LPU @ first: A Giant Leap Towards Excellence”, March 4-6.The series of events started with a morning mass held at the University’s auditorium. It was then followed by the wreath laying, done in honor of Jose P. Laurel. The said event was handled and managed by Atty. Roberto Laurel, the faculty and staff, the student organizations and representatives. Afterwhich, a motorcade from Gen. Trias to Dasmariñas was held. The first day ended with the much-awaited search for the very first Mr. and Ms Lyceum.
Following the success of day 1, the second day started with a seminar on Optical Mark Recognition for the faculty. Meanwhile the students gathered for the first Student Organizations' Day; this was conducted to give the clubs and interest groups a chance to reintroduce their associations.
On day 3, selected students attended a seminar on Study and Thinking Skills (See full article on page 3). Simultaneously, guests from different high schools in Cavite joined the Math Quiz Bee sponsored by the Math department. Later that afternoon, the same department supervised the Amazing Math Race the same department supervised the Amazing Math Race joined by selected LPU students.The three-day celebration closed with the amazing field demonstration by Physical Education students, showcasing the evolution of dance.
